NHK–Japan acquired Broadcasting Rights for 4 Paralympic Games

NHK has reached agreement with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) regarding broadcasting rights to the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games, Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Summer Games, 2022 Paralympic Winter Games (host city not yet decided) and 2024 Paralympic Summer Games (host city not yet decided). The rights acquired are for all media formats, including the Internet and mobile phones, in addition to TV and radio broadcasting.

NHK has been broadcasting the Paralympic Games for many years including the Tokyo Games 51 years ago. Audience expectations are especially high for the Tokyo 2020 Games in five years from now. The Japanese public broadcaster will  draw on that long experience to make the most of diverse media, including TV and radio broadcasts, digital services and 8K (Super Hi-Vision), to convey the attractions and passion of the Paralympic Games to every corner of Japan.
