MediaCorp joins voluntary organisations in community service relay

MediaCorp, Sheng Siong Group Limited and Singapore Pools Limited are celebrating the impact of volunteer service through “50 hours of giving”, a project to encourage employees to regularly give their time, skills and expertise to the community.

The three corporations have pledged 50 hours of community work as a start, delivered via a community service relay. MediaCorp took its turn first with a series of community and environmental projects under its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, MediaCorp Cares. MediaCorp employees clocked some 24 group hours together on the following projects: SG Care and Share Day, Celeb’s Curated Collection charity bazaar and Cleanup of Pasir Ris Beach.

The baton will be passed on to Sheng Siong whose employees will be spending three weeks in July interacting with beneficiaries from St John’s Home for the Elderly, Lions Befrienders and Jamiya Home. The company will also participate in a variety of community activities such as food delivery. 

Singapore Pools will complete the giving relay by spending a day of fun with students from Metta School with activities like going to the circus, making arts and craft and baking.
