ABU and AIBD agree to deepen their relations

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) are opening a new chapter in their relations following a meeting between the two organisations on July 13, 2015.

ABU Secretary-General, Dr Javad Mottaghi and AIBD Director, Mr Chang Jin, together with senior staff from both organisations met at ABU Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to discuss how to improve their mutual cooperation to the benefit of their respective members.

Dr Mottaghi believes that enhancing such relations will make both organisations stronger and this could result in better services to members. Mr Jin who took office as AIBD Director this year expressed his satisfaction and looked forward to collaborate with the ABU. Areas of cooperation would include: Training, Programming, Research, Social Media and Disasters Preparedness.

A calendar of events will be set up between the ABU and AIBD and a joint working session will be held next August.
