CCTV acquired new Telenovela Licenses

China Central Television (CCTV) has bought new telenovela series from Globo. Indonesian Kompas Television and ABS-CBN Corporation in Philippines have also acquired the same licenses. CCTV has picked ‘Side by Side’ which won Emmy award in 2013. The dubbed series is scheduled for broadcast this month in China, Hong Kong and Macao.

Kompas TV has secured three titles namely ‘Tangled Hearts’, ‘The Life We Lead’ and ‘India – A Love Story.’ ABS-CBN has purchased ‘The Life We Lead.’

“Re-investing in a Globo’s drama, CCTV recognizes the high quality of our production and its ability to reach different cultures around the world,” said Raphael Correa Netto, Executive Director of International Business with Globo and added that “the challenge is to keep offering our products to Asian Channels, and we believe that there are many possibilities to explore in the region.”
