Fiji Broadcasting Corporation signs Broadcast Agreement for Netball World Cup Sydney 2015

An agreement has been reached between Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) and Netball Australia for the broadcast of World Netball Championships. FBC TV, the free-to-air television of the Fijian national broadcaster will air live 13 matches which include all of Fiji’s games, the semi-finals and the final.

This will be the first time ever for FBC TV to show the World Cup of netball, and follows in the trend setting by the broadcaster in recent time of showing top class netball such as the Constellation Cup and the ANZ Championships,” said FBC in a statement.

Netball World Cup Sydney 2015 is scheduled from 7 to 16 August at Allphones Arena and Netball Central in Sydney Olympic Park. The Fiji Pearls plays Wales in their first match on 7 August.

We are very proud of the fact that we are able to for the first time take the Netball World Cup to the places in Fiji who have never seen this before and hopefully there is some hidden talent in other parts of the country that was not exposed to this level of netball and it would encourage some people to take up Netball who could become the future of netball,” said Riyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, Chief Executive of FBC.
