CCTV bags La Liga rights for five years

China Central Television (CCTV), the state broadcaster, has secured for five years broadcast rights to La Liga. The deal has been concluded for over EUR375 million (USD407 million) of which CCTV will pay around EUR75 million annually.

According to Javier Tebas, President of Spanish Football League (LFP), the deal has been  closed  during his visit to China while accompanying Atletico Madrid, Spanish football club based in Madrid. La Liga is one of the professional football divisions of the Spanish football league system. It is basically contested by 20 teams.

The next La Liga season will be the 85th league since its launch and will run from  22 August, 2015 until 15 May 2016.
