2015 Pacific Media Partnership Conference to be kicked off next week in Samoa

The Pacific Media Partnership Conference 2015 will be held on 25-27 August 2015 in Apia, Samoa. The theme for the event is ‘Partnering for Broadcasting’.

Broadcasting and digital delivery are topics of interest to the Pacific, the ABU and all other media stakeholders. The PMPC event provides a platform for the broadcasters and media personnel in the Pacific to share knowledge and expertise to improve and promote broadcasting in the region. The conference will address a number of challenges in content production and new technologies including their plan to go digital with their national terrestrial television broadcasting services for delivery.

Since the PMPC event is held in a Pacific country, the conference will provide an affordable opportunity for broadcasters and other media professionals to understand new concepts and mechanisms that can enhance their capacity in various aspects of broadcasting and media delivery.

The conference is jointly organized by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), ITU, and the Pacific Media Partners (PMP) with the support of the Department of Communications of the Australian Government, and Samoa Broadcasting Corporation. The conference also comprises of several workshops and meetings that will be of interest to the Pacific Broadcasters.

There are 105 participants from 21 countries registered who will attend the three workshops and the conference. Eleven speakers in the conference and 21 speakers in the three workshops will share their experiences with delegates from the Pacific and beyond.
