The ABU Technology Webinar Festival 2015 Gets Underway

The ABU Technology Webinar Festival, which has now become a regular annual online event, kicked off with the webinar offerings for 2015 this week. The webinar festival, running for its fifth consecutive year now, started on 17th Aug and will continue for just over a month closing on 21st September 2015. The series will offer a total of 48 online webinar sessions covering a wide range of broadcast technology topics from experts around the world.

The topics and presentations for the webinar series have been taken from the ABU’s Digital Broadcasting Symposium held early this year. These webinars aim to impart knowledge and provide information on new technologies and developments in the industry. It also provides an opportunity for colleagues who did not have the chance to attend the symposium to experience these selected topics online. This year the webinar sessions will cover five main themes, namely; Spectrum, Workflow and Media Management, Media Evolution, Digital Radio Technologies, Implementations and Updates and Digital Television.

Each webinar session will start with selected presentations on the subject matter followed by a question and answer session. Each session is roughly 90mins long and will run twice daily, once in the morning and the same repeated in the afternoon to facilitate participation of colleagues from different time zones. Close to 200 attendees have registered for the sessions so far and the registration is still open. It is open for anyone interested in broadcast technologies.
