MediaCorp sparkles at the Sparks Awards 2015

It is double joy for MediaCorp at The Sparks Award for Media Excellence 2015, a platform organized by Marketing Interactive for media owners to demonstrate innovation and effectiveness to advertisers, agencies and clients.

At the Awards Gala Dinner held at The Singapore Marriott on 27 August 2015, MediaCorp’s 938LIVE and OOH Media each won a bronze award for:

  1. Best Launch/Re-launch by a Media Owner (938LIVE)
  2. Best Media Solution – Experiential (OOH Media)

For 938LIVE, the award is icing on the cake following the successful relaunch of the news and information station. Over a four-month period, 938Live saw increased audience share, found new commercial partners and received positive feedback from listeners. At the same time, 938LIVE’s social media reach continued to grow – its Facebook page saw a more than 50% increase in the number likes after the launch.

For its win, OOH Media offered the use of its mobile billboard truck to attract students studying fashion to enroll in a fashion boot camp, organized by clients styleXstyle and Samsonite. The larger-than-life and creative billboards on its exterior captured the attention of many would-be fashionistas; while the truck’s interior was turned into an exhibition area where students could learn more about the boot camp and engage with styleXstyle personalities. The 400 applications for a 16-position boot camp showed the effectiveness of the campaign and the use of creative solutions for OOH media.
