AIR-India launches 2 more live streaming channels

All India Radio has added two channels, namely AIR Telugu and AIR Kannada, to its bouquet of live streaming channels via its website. Consequently, one can live-stream as many as 12 channels from anywhere and at any time of the day across the globe in real time.

A few channels are also available through the AIR Live mobile app for Windows, Android and iOS platforms. The live streaming and the mobile app will cater to the Indian diaspora in different parts of the world. As part of its digital India initiative, the broadcaster has also made it possible for advertisers to buy space by logging into their website.

On 12 November, Akashvani celebrated Public Service Broadcasting Day, which commemorates Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to Akashvani studios in Delhi in 1947. AIR DG F Sheheryar said, “The very idea of public service broadcasting emanates from serving the forlorn segments of society who have least access to print and visual media and are dependent on radio receivers on their pillows.”
