BES EXPO 2016 focused on Multiple Digital Platforms

The BES EXPO 22nd International Conference & Exhibition on Terrestrial and Satellite Broadcasting took place from 4 to 6 February 2016 in New Delhi. Organised by Broadcast Engineering Society of India, the conference with the theme “Digital Broadcasting – Moving Towards Multiple Platforms” attracted more than 800 broadcasting professionals, media representatives and visitors. 

This annual event which is supported by the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting together with the state broadcaster, Prasar Bharati is the largest broadcasting engineering exposition and conference in this part of the sub-continent. It was ranked among the top five knowledge events in the region.

44 speakers including 24 from overseas made presentations at the conference. Themes included: Broadcasting-Moving towards multiple platforms, Digital Television- Broadcasting to Mobile, Advances in Production and Presentation, Radio Broadcasting-the road ahead, Advances in Technology – New Disruptors and Content-Archives-Revenue “The Challenge”.

Dr Amal Punchihewa, ABU Director of Technology & Innovation presented in the session of Broadcasting-Moving Towards Multiple Platforms. He discussed the development of IBB & OTT supported by case studies in the Asia-Pacific region. He also chaired the session on Advances in Technology – New Disruptors.
