Various activities marked the World Radio Day 2016 in Bangladesh

A colourful rally, a discussion session and some cultural programmes were among the activities held last Saturday in Bangladesh to celebrate the 5th World Radio Day 2016.  

16 Community Radio Stations, 12 Medium wave stations, 35 FM stations of Bangladesh Betar and 14 Private FM stations participated in various activities in different parts of the country.

The Minister of Information, Mr Hasanul Haq Inu delivered a speech at the opening ceremony in Dhaka. Mr AHM Bazlur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC)   and Member of the World Radio Day Observation International Committee and Mr AKM Nesar Uddin Ahmed, the newly appointed Director General of BETAR were also present.

It was announced there that Community Television for Development will be soon a reality in Bangladesh.
