ABU News Training Workshop on Non-Linear Editing

Today marks the end of a week-long training workshop on Non-Linear Editing conducted by Asiavision (AVN) in IPPTAR Building, Kuala Lumpur. 21 senior TV journalists coming from 18 AVN member countries participated in this intensive workshop which provided a complete introduction to digital editing using Edius 6.

The workshop was conducted by Mr Choi Ki Hong from South Korea. At the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), he was the first to initiate HD news and developed his own methods to create news on laptops.

Participants were initiated to News Report Editing (MXF Source), Music Video Production, Codecs and Rendering, Title Animation, Video and Transition Effects. ABU’s news department intends to organize regularly, at least once a year, other training workshops on different topics to enhance capacity building in the news sections of member countries.

Participating journalists were from: RTB-Brunei, BTV-Bangladesh, FBC-Fiji, TVB-Hong Kong, DDI-India, IRIB-Iran, NHK-japan, RTM-Malaysia, PSM-Maldives, NTV-Nepal, ABS CBN-Philippines, SLRC-Sri Lanka, MCOT-Thailand, TRT-Turkey, TVTM-Turkmenistan, MRTK-Uzbekistan, VTV-Vietnam, and KBS-Korea.
