ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2016 Opens next Monday in Kuala Lumpur

The stage is set for a Grand DBS 2016. The ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2016 has received a record number of registrations to date. Delegates from 56 countries, representing over 200 organisations, will be joining the event.

The curtain will rise on this year’s DBS on 29 February and the showpiece event will run until 3 March at Hotel Istana in Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the symposium is ‘Innovating Digital Connections’. It is the 12th in a series of annual symposiums staged by the ABU to help radio and television broadcasters and the industry.

DBS 2016 comprises an international conference, focused workshops and an industry exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and services from industry players.   The exhibition is free and walk-in visitors are welcome.

The symposium’s Principal Sponsor is WorldDAB for the third consecutive year. The seven Major Sponsors are MCMC, Rohde & Schwarz, MediaGuru, EMC, MediaGeniX, RAPA and Dolby.

More than 70 eminent speakers will cover a wide range of topics of interest to broadcasters and the media industry. 

A highlight of the conference will be the Industry Debate on 3 March. Leading industry figures will look at ‘Digital Radio for the Future’ and discuss the challenges and opportunities going forward.
