Digital Broadcasting Conference 2016 Closed on High Note

The 2016 ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium closed yesterday in Kuala Lumpur after 4 days of intense deliberations on various sectors of the broadcasting industry. The conference rooms of Istana Hotel in Kuala Lumpur were filled with delegates and visitors not only from the Asia-Pacific region but also from US and Europe.

Over 1000 delegates and participants representing 200 organisations from 56 countries were all passionate about the high level discussions and latest developments in broadcast technologies. The conference theme, “Innovating Digital Connections” proved to be of considerable interest to all symposium attendees.

Presenters included a diverse array of accomplished broadcasters, engineers, content and digital archiving professionals and broadcast regulators. From 4K and 8K technologies to Digital Radio and Cross Platform Media to OTT and IBB, there were presentations and debates to engage everyone. 

Attendees expressed that they appreciated the high standards of the event and the lively participation of the audience. The session speakers inspired many conversations and the exchanging of ideas and experiences in various sectors of the broadcasting industry.

In conjunction with the symposium, the Best Booth Award was bestowed on SONY. The next ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium will be held at the same venue from 6-9 March 2017.
