International Women’s Day – WOMEN MAKE THE NEWS 2016

To mark the International Women’s Day, UNESCO launches the Women Make the News 2016 (WMN). The theme this year is “Gender Equality in the Media is Sustainable Development”: Gender Equality in the Media by 2030.

ABU invites its members to fully support the global initiative, Women Make the News 2016. The objective is to raise awareness on the issue of gender equality in media. Media organisations are encouraged to give a fair consideration and treatment to female newsroom staff.
