Channel NewsAsia to broadcast documentary on Rebuilding Nepal

A year ago on 25th April 2015, a devastating earthquake struck Nepal, killing more than 8,000 people and leaving more than 2 million people homeless. A second earthquake of a similar magnitude soon followed, increasing fear amongst the citizens.

Channel NewsAsia documentary, Rebuilding Nepal, followed the immense task of rebuilding a shattered nation. The documentary will be broadcast on 24 and 25 April 2016.

The one-hour documentary features how some profiles have contributed to the rebuilding process despite the circumstances – Rohit Ranjitkar, an architect, has helped in restoring the former Patan Royal Palace Complex which is now a museum, and Liliy Thapa, the founder of Women for Human Rights,  has enabled several Nepali widows to regain their footing.  The producers also find out the challenges Monika Khadka and her family faced as they struggled to make ends meet living in a tent camp for over a year before embarking on the journey to rebuilding their destroyed home.
