Nawaz Dookhee 
Manager-Regulatory, Legal & IP Services

Nawaz acted for many years as litigation counsel on commercial and civil matters. Besides his active practice, he was concurrently the lead legal consultant for the Broadcasting regulator (IBA) in Mauritius where he advised on regulatory/commercial & competition matters. He was involved in drafting legislations/regulations and media guidelines, practice directions and advisory notes on behalf of IBA. 

Nawaz graduated from LSE for his LLB and LLM as well as Paris II University (Pantheon-Assas). He is a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple.

Although Nawaz joined physically in January 2016, he has been working very closely with the ABU Legal Department and the Secretariat since his recruitment in Oct 2015. His interests are in sports and content IP rights, new technologies and media.

Seemantani Sharma
Legal & IP Services Officer

Seemantani Sharma is an Intellectual Property Lawyer licensed to practice in India. Prior to joining the ABU, she worked in various legal capacities in the U.S. and India. Her last stint was at the George Washington University and the Recording Industry Association of America. Keeping up with her scholarly temperament, she regularly writes on intellectual property law and policy issues for legal journals and blogs.  

Although she formally joined the ABU in June, 2016, she has been contributing to ABU’s Legal Department since March, 2016.  

She holds a Master of Laws specializing in Intellectual Property from the George Washington University Law School.
