UNISDR-Call for Entries for Short Film Competition on Disaster Risk Reduction

The Short Film Competition aims to showcase benefits of disaster risk reduction policies to nations and communities and to encourage increased investments in prevention and mitigation measures.

The competition under the theme: Risk Sensitive Development for Community Resilience is organised by the Government of India and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), with support of various partners. The competition is held in conjunction with the Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction scheduled in New Delhi, India from 2-5 November 2016.

A jury composed of representatives from the Government of India, UNISDR, the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the Asia Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) will review entries and select the winners of each category.

Participants can email Andrew Mcelroy at mcelroy@un.org who will send a link to upload the short film. The Deadline for Submission is 31 August 2016 and the Award Ceremony will take place in New Delhi on 5 November 2016.
