DD – India Freedish adds two new channels

The subscription-free direct-to-home (DTH) platform, DD Freedish, has resealed deals with six existing channels. These channels are Star Utsav, Zee Anmol, Rishtey, B4U Music, India 24×7 and Vision TV (Housefull Movies). DD Freedish has also added two new channels to its bouquet: APN and Fight Sports. The decision was taken after an e-auction was held on 11 August.

The fact that some channels are taking slots for a short period of one year only, the total number of channels stands at 80.

Star Utsav is a free-to-air (FTA) Indian television channel broadcasting Hindi entertainment and is part of the Star TV network in Asia. Zee Anmol is an Indian FTA channel launched by Zee Network. Rishtey is a FTA Hindi TV channel as well, screening re-runs of programming including programmes from the Pakistan channels such as Humsafar, Colors channels, Cartoons channels, MTV channels and NDTV Imagine channels.

Being a music-themed digital TV channel, B4U Music is available in more than eight different satellites in not less than 189 countries. The channel airs a compilation of modern Bollywood, Indipop, Bhangra and worldwide music.
