ABU General Assembly 2016 in Bali – Two months to go
The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and the host organisation the Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) are pleased to announce their joint website abu.rri.co.id/ for the 53rd ABU General Assembly and Associated Meetings that will take place in Bali, Indonesia from 18-26 October 2016. A World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) Conference will also be held on the last day at the same venue in conjunction with the ABU events.
The website contains all information related to this important gathering of the broadcasting industry professionals – Registration, Hotels, Agenda, Visa, Climate, Currency and other useful details.
The theme for this year’s GA is “Media for the Future”. The ABU General Assembly will be held on 24 and 25 October 2016. Preceding the General Assembly will be the traditional annual meetings of the ABU Sports Group, Radio Working Party, Programme and Technical Committees, the 5th Women With the Wave Forum and a Quality Management Workshop. These meetings will run from 18–22 October. Our host RRI has kindly arranged a full day excursion on 23 October 2016 to enjoy the splendour of the iconic island of Bali. The 5th ABU TV Song Festival gala-concert and the highly acclaimed ABU Prizes ceremony will provide glamour and entertainment for the delegates.
On 26 October the World Broadcasting Unions will gather for a one-day conference to discuss the role of public service media in the digital age.
