ABU PMPC 2016 inaugurated by PNG Prime Minister in Port Moresby

Pre-conference workshops commenced on 24th August in Port Moresby leading to the PMPC-2016 conference. This year Pacific Media Partnership Conference is hosted by the ABU member EMTV from 24th to 26th August. The three day event will be held in Papua New Guinea for the first time with the sponsorship of EMTV, ITU and the Australian Government.

Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency, NBC, NICTA, SPREP, FM100, PACMAS, Radio Frequency Systems, Rohde& Schwarz S, UNESCO and NHK are supporting the conference.

Capacity building for Digital Broadcasting workshop discussed challenges and issues faced by broadcast media, especially various factors that affect the digitalisation process. Twenty speakers in ten sessions addressed wide range topics.

ABU has 25 members in the Pacific region itself who are spread over 10 countries. One hundred and twenty six (126) delegates from 19 countries have registered for the event. The main conference having the theme Collaborating  for Broadcasting will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister of PNG on 26th August.
