DD Freedish to hold its 31st e-auction for licence renewal in October

India’s free-to-air direct-to-home platform, Doordarshan (DD) Freedish, will be holding its 31st e-auction in the month of October, in less than one month since its last e-auction where its slots were sold to three broadcasters.

The e-auction allows private channels whose annual pacts end in December this year, are eligible to take part in the e-auction but those channels whose agreements are expiring next year in January or afterwards will not be allowed to participate.

Channels that are interested in taking part in the e-auction have to hand their uplinking and downlinking permission from the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB), together with their application. The deadline for submission of completed application is on 5 October.
