ABU ROBOCON 2016 aired on NHK World this month

NHK’s programme featuring ‘ABU Robocon 2016 Bangkok’ will be broadcast on NHK World TV on October 23 and 24.

The 15th ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest (ABU Robocon) was held in Bangkok, Thailand on 21 August 2016 with 17 university teams from 16 countries and regions vying for the title of handmade robot champion. The contest was won for the first time by a Malaysian team – Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Delegates attending the ABU General Assembly in Bali will be available to watch the programme on Channel 1 at the Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali.Those interested could also download free app and enjoy live streaming and video on demand on ‘nhk.jp/nhkworld’.  

The ABU ROBOCON 2017 will be back to Tokyo, Japan, hosted by NHK. The theme of the contest is “The Landing Discs”, which was officially announced at the end of the Bangkok contest.
