Third ABU-AIBD Workshop on Engineering Fundamentals for Broadcasters

The third Regional Workshop on Engineering Fundamentals for Broadcasters was held in Kuala Lumpur from 7-11November 2016. The workshop focused on recent developments  on Information Technologies (IT) and Internet Protocol (IP) based services for media broadcasting.

This year the workshop was supported by ABU members Mediaprima and Astro with resource persons. AIBD and ABU partners Rohde & Schwarz and Microsoft provided trainers. Basic engineering and technical concepts in media broadcasting and IT were discussed in training sessions. A number of young engineers who are embarking on their careers in modern media broadcasting benefited from the course. The workshop attracted 41 engineers and technical staff from 17 organisations representing 9 countries.

This is a regular human capacity building event of the ABU Technical department that is conducted annually in November. The feedback from participants and trainers will be used to improve further the 2017 training course.
