ABU-AIBD-ASBU-WorldDAB Regional Workshop and Training on Digital Radio Broadcasting

The second regional workshop and training on Digital Radio Broadcasting was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 21-25 November 2016. 

Bridging the two regions, Asia-Pacific and Arab States, 35 participants from 11 ABU Member countries and 5 from Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) attended the human capacity building event which spanned over five days. Six resource personnel contributed to the course, which also had a field visit to the radio facilities of ABU member – Radio Television Malaysia (RTM).

The 5-day course aimed to impart knowledge on the state-of-the-art digital broadcast technologies, standards and services based on DAB, especially in delivery, having primary emphasis on current DAB+ technology. The workshop also discussed how radio broadcast organisations can explore hybrid technologies to offer evolving services.  Participants also learned how to plan, design and implement a digital radio broadcast network.
