The first ABU International Dance Festival kicks off on 15 January in Hyderabad, India

The 1st ABU International Dance Festival will take place on Sunday 15 January. Doordarshan (DD) / Prasar Bharati and the ABU, are ready for the gala event to be held at Shilpa Kala Vedika Terracotta Auditorium and Convention Centre in Hyderabad.

Nearly 100 performers from 10 organisations from 9 countries, including the host country, India have been registered to showcase their performances in traditional and contemporary categories.

Participating organisations are; ASTRO-Malaysia, CTC-Philippines, DD-India, FBC-Fiji, Ichimai-Azerbaijan, MTRK-Uzbekistan, PSM-Maldives, RRI-Indonesia, RTA-Afghanistan and TVRI-Indonesia. The ABU International Dance Festival will take place in Hyderabad, India with the support of Telengana State Government.

The ABU International Dance Festival will take the form of a televised, non-competitive celebration and showcase of dances representing the geographical and cultural expanse of the Asia-Pacific region.

The two-hour dance extravaganza on 15 January 2017 will be broadcast live at 5.30 pm India time.
