CEO Bhanu Sud is leaving EMTV – Papua New Guinea

Chief Executive Officer of EMTV and EMTEK Multimedia, Mr Bhanu Sud is resigning from Media Niugini Limited (MNL) on 17 February 2017. His successor is Mr Matthew Park.

Mr Sud’s decision comes after positioning MNL for digitalization, and having built the broadcaster’s international image, as one of the most prolific in the Pacific Region.

Telikom PNG CEO, Michael Donnelly said: “I’ve worked with many engineers, in many different cultures, and I can say both as an engineer and professional, Bhanu (Sud) demonstrates skills in a range of areas, from engineering, to marketing, to technology, to innovation in this very exciting space we call the internet, and the whole new economy.

Since taking office over five years ago, Mr Sud has been laying the foundation for the network’s digitalization process, while seeing to the development of innovative local productions such as Vocal Fusion, which turned into the country’s most viewed reality show.

Major live international sporting events were also successfully broadcasted during his stint, such as the 2015 Pacific Games, and the 2016 FIFA U20 Women World Cup.

He was also responsible for establishing EMTEK multimedia, the Pacific’s leading commercial production and creative adverstising company, which introduced a brand-new audiovisual language in Papua New Guinea, while offering a one-stop shop to the industry.

Mr Sud said, “It has been a great privilege to work with an exceptionally dedicated and skilled team, and I am proud of what we have achieved over this period of time, especially considering the limited resources available”.

EMTV is Papua New Guinea’s premier television station, and has been the country’s window to the world for over two decades. Owned by Telikom PNG through subsidiary Media Niugini Limited; the channel is one of the most respected and trusted sources for news and information in the country today.

The ABU Secretary-General, Dr Javad Mottaghi expressed his gratitude to Mr Sud for having successfully hosted the 2016 ABU Pacific Media Partnership Conference in Port Moresby. He also took this opportunity to welcome the new EMTV CEO,  Mr Matthew Park to the ABU Family and congratulated him on his new position.
