ABU DBS 2017 kicks off next Monday in Kuala Lumpur

The ABU Digital Broadcasting Symposium 2017 has received a record number of registrations to date. Delegates from over 60 countries, representing more than 250 organisations, will be joining the event.

The curtains will be raised for this year’s DBS on 6 March and the showpiece event will run until 9 March at The Royale Chulan Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The theme of the symposium is ‘Digitise, Digitalise and Dominate’. This is the 13th year running for this annual event staged by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union to help the broadcasting and media industry.

DBS 2017 comprises an international conference, focused workshops and an industry exhibition showcasing the latest technologies and services from around the world. The exhibition is free and walk-in visitors are welcome.

More than 70 eminent speakers will cover a wide range of topics of interest to broadcasters and the media industry. 

A highlight of the conference will be the Industry Debate on 9 March. Leading industry figures will look at ‘Managing the Multifaceted Transition’ discussing how broadcaster should manage the many transitions, like going digital, moving on to HD, implementing new media platforms and consider a move to UHD. What are the best strategies to address these challenges going forward.
