TRT World expands reach with AsiaSat

Free-to-air Turkish news platform TRT World HD is increasing its presence across the Asia Pacific following a deal with satellite operator AsiaSat.

Owned by Turkish national public broadcaster TRT, TRT World is Turkey’s first English language international news platform. The deal, facilitated by the channel’s worldwide distributor Globecast, will see the channel added to the AsiaSat 7 platform, which offers C-band coverage of Asia, the Middle East, Australasia and Central Asia and Ku beams serving East and South Asia. Globecast is providing DTH distribution of TRT World, including worldwide connectivity and uplink distribution services.
