ABU Participated Successfully in Broadcast Asia 2017

The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) participated in the BroadcastAsia 2017 Exhibition from 23 to 25 May at Suntec, Singapore.

More than 100 people visited our booth.  It was an opportunity for them and other visitors to discover our latest services to our 272 members from 69 countries from across the Asia-Pacific and other regions of the world. The ABU Technology Division also participated in the conference during the last three days.

Video clips of some of our activities were screened such as the Digital Broadcasting Symposium, the ABU TV Song Festival, ABU International Dance Festival, ABU PRIZES and the Asiavision services. We also presented some insights of our upcoming events like the Global News Forum in Singapore, the 4th Media Summit on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction in Fiji and the Pacific Media Partnership Conference 2018 in Solomon Islands.

Visitors at our booth showed interest in many of the ABU activities such as RadioAsia, Global News Forum, Digital Broadcasting Symposium and Robocon. They asked many questions on content sharing on topics like protection of women and children, climate change and sports.

The ABU is the world’s biggest broadcasting union in terms of geographic area and population. Its members comprise state, public service and commercial broadcasters as well as other media industry players. Through its network, the ABU serves 3.5 billion people.

The next edition of BroadcastAsia will be held at Suntec, Singapore during the last week of June 2018.
