Don’t miss out on one of the most exciting developments in radio in years – .radio. 

.radio is the new top-level internet domain dedicated to the world of radio.  It is a chance for radio broadcasters around the world to reserve a very special place on the Internet for your stations, programs and your radio stars.

Driven by bodies such as the ABU and the European Broadcasting Union – who will administer the scheme – .radio is the opportunity for existing members of the unions to have their name, brand or call-sign embedded forever in perhaps the best URL ever.

For example, if the name of your station or network is currently “iM4U-FM”, you can now become “iM4U.radio”, to the whole world and have your online programs and features found easily anywhere on the planet. A .radio URL will expand your reach to every part of the globe with the simplest Internet address possible.

.radio is the result of years of planning, preparation and negotiations by leading stakeholders in the radio sector worldwide – including the ABU.

It has been trialled, the wrinkles ironed out and is now ready to launch from 23 August, 2017. 

During the launch period, you can make a claim for your unique domain name by registering your domain name with an accredited registrar.

During the launch period 23 August – 31 October, 2017, the process is not ‘first come, first served’.  The .radio team, which includes the ABU, will seek to optimize domain name allocation to solve contentious issues and prioritize existing radio services.

Don’t miss this opportunity. After the launch phase, General Availability starts, and then ‘first come, first served’ approach will apply.
