KBS and TRT strengthen cooperation

KBS President & CEO and ABU President Ko Dae-young welcomed a visit to KBS Headquarters by Turkish Radio & Television Corporation (TRT) Director General Ibrahim Eren on December 6, 2017.

As active members of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), KBS and TRT have been continuing their efforts to contribute to the media industry in the region. The two broadcasters have particularly been maintaining a close relationship under the umbrella of the ABU as well as through a range of co-operative initiatives. In 2013, KBS and TRT had successfully co-produced a documentary titled Ankara School-Korean War in My Memory . The co-production is a story of sacrifice and dedication demonstrated by the Turkish soldiers who served in the Korean War. Also, KBS hosted the K-POP World Tour Series in Istanbul in 2013 with a huge success. TRT provided technical support for the event and the show was broadcast in Turkey via a TRT channel.

During the meeting with KBS President & CEO Ko Dae-young, Mr. Ibrahim Eren expressed a keen interest in co-production between KBS and TRT, especially in drama and documentary area.
