NHK WORLD to air Songs of Tokyo on New Year

With Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics approaching, Japan is on many people’s minds that increased attention provides an opportunity to showcase Japanese culture.

Hence, we will broadcast internationally the program “SONGS OF TOKYO” featuring the music of mod- ern-day Tokyo with many of the country’s most popular entertainers on NHK WORLD TV the first two days of the new year. On Monday 1 January, Part 1 will be broadcast at 7.10 (Japan Standard Time) and Part 2 at 8.10. On Tuesday 2 January, Part 3 will be aired at 7.10 and Part 4 at 8.10. Each part repeats three times.
