ABU PMPC 2018 Kicks Off next week in Fiji

“Pacific Voices, Pacific Stories: Engaging Audiences in Making Content” is the theme of the 9th Pacific Media Partnership Conference this year which will be held from 6-7 February in Nadi, Fiji.

The conference brings together two of broadcasting’s major current challenges – making great programs and building audiences and will also share up-to-the minute perspectives on technological development, regulatory issues, news and programming.

On 6 February at 14.00 hours, the opening remarks will be delivered by Ms Faiesea Matafeo, Chairperson of PMPC and CEO of Samoa Broadcasting Corporation. Two sessions will then follow having as their sub-theme: Serving Audiences Through Converged Technologies.

Delegates will debate on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its role in media production and delivery. Other topics for Day One of the conference will include financial and budgetary challenges of smaller broadcasters and Investments in media infrastructures.
