SBS News Available with Amazon Alexa in Australia

SBS is making it easier for Australians to stay up to date with the latest local and international news with a new flash briefing skill for Amazon Alexa-enabled devices.

From launch on the 1st of February, Amazon’s voice service, Alexa, will deliver SBS News audio bulletins to users on request. The move reflects SBS’s ongoing commitment to giving audiences greater access to quality, in-depth news and current affairs from Australia and around the world.

“SBS delivers the highest quality, most trusted news for all Australians across television, radio and digital platforms. We’re seeing growing engagement with SBS audio content as audiences seek to stay informed at home and on the go and our new skill for Alexa provides yet another way to access the latest updates from SBS News at the touch of a button or by voice command,” said Jim Carroll, Director of News and Current Affairs – SBS.

The new digital skill for Alexa follows recent updates to SBS News to improve the network’s digital news offering for audiences. A new SBS News app for and launched in December while changes to the popular SBS Radio app have provided greater access to multilingual news updates and podcasts on the go. (C+T Mag)
