AVN Coordinators Meet in Nepal for Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Asiavision (AVN) News Coordinators has got underway in Nepal’s capital of Kathmandu. The meeting was opened by Mr. Mahesh Raj Dahal, the Executive Chairman of Nepal Television.

Nepal Television is the host of the three-day meeting which runs from the 19-21 March 2018.The meeting is a platform for the news coordinators to review and to look for ways on taking AVN forward. There is a session where members get to share their experience with others on their daily AVN operations.

Two partners of AVN in news exchange, the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) are also be presenting in the meeting.  

A workshop on covering breaking news and special events is also on the agenda.

The workshop will, among others things, look at understanding the characteristics of breaking news and the roles of production of breaking events
