Talent shines in Astana at the 5th ABU Song Festival

Performers from ten countries came together in Astana in a musical showcase from across Asia and the Pacific, embracing and recognising the diverse musical talents of young artists in the region.

The fifth edition of the popular showcase of young talent in the Asia Pacific saw artists from Afghanistan, Indonesia, Macau, Maldives, Nepal, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Vietnam and the host country, Kazakhstan take to the stage in an exciting and energetic showcase that brought the crowd to its feet.

The Festival, which took place in the impressive Kazmedia Concert Hall, was broadcast live in the host country and beamed to participating countries in the region.

The ABU Radio Song Festival is a musical showcase from across Asia and the Pacific. The Festival embraces and recognizes the diverse musical talents of nations within the region by uncovering the best original and unsigned musicians.

The inaugural Festival was held in Seoul in 2012 and second edition in Colombo in 2014, followed by third edition in Yangon in 2015 and fourth edition in Beijing in 2016.
