Azerbaijan starts DAB+ broadcasts

Azerbaijan has successfully launched a DAB+ trial in Baku.

A total of 12 DAB+ stations are available to listeners in the capital and the wider region of the Absheron peninsula, covering approximately three million people.

In accordance with the implementation of the Action Plan for 2019, carried out by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the testing has been initiated by Television Radio Broadcasting and Satellite Communication Production Unity.

Basic station equipment, a digital radio transmitter of 1 kW and antenna feeder system with 1×6 configuration have been put into operation in Baku TV Tower Complex.

The test signal is being broadcast on 218.6 MHz and is provided in Baku and the Absheron peninsula.
