Co-produced documentaries to be aired on CCTV

A China-foreign co-produced documentary marking the 70th founding anniversary of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) will be aired on China Central Television and National Geographic Channel.

The documentary, jointly produced by institutions and companies from China, the United States and Britain, highlights the achievements that China has made during the past seven decades, and individual stories of Chinese people.

Zhang Yanbin, an official with the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, encouraged more cooperation among domestic and foreign media as well as film enterprises to improve mutual understanding.

CCTV will also be airing a  four-episode television series dedicated to China’s achievements on ecological advancement and environmental protection over the past 70 years and will be aired on China Central Television (CCTV) from Monday to Tuesday.

A joint production of China Media Group and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the TV series “Beautiful China,” by telling vivid stories of ordinary Chinese, depicts how the people’s sense of fulfilment has grown stronger due to improvements to the ecological environment.

The film team took a journey of more than 50,000 km to meet with 40 key interviewees in 18 provincial-level regions, including Xinjiang, Yunnan, Guangdong, Guizhou and Sichuan, according to producers of the series.
