The ABU Technical Bureau met on 17 November to discuss important issues affecting broadcasters, including the transition to digital broadcasting.

The Bureau consists of 18 members elected from among the members of the ABU Technical Committee.

It meets twice annually, once in mid-year and once in conjunction with the General Assembly.

The meeting took place at NHK headquarters in Shibuya and was chaired by the Technical Committee Chairman, Mr Hamid D Nayeri of IRIB-Iran. Participants were also taken on a tour of NHK facilities.
