The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) are jointly organizing a Pre-Summit Regional Workshop to be held in Qingdao, China, on 5 June 2017. The Workshop will precede the Asia Media Summit 2017 which will be held from 6th to 8th June 2017.

The pre-summit workshop organised by AIBD/ITU/ABU aims are:

The theme for this pre-summit workshop is “Digital Broadcasting, Policy and Transition.” The session will look at the Digital Radio and DTTB from three perspectives: Technical, Policy and Case studies. The aim of this workshop is to show and aware on different technical standard, implementation from Analogue to Digital Terrestrial transmission and sharing some successful case studies. The degree of technical detail will be set to allow participants from different areas of specialisation to benefit from the workshop.

The workshop is designed for a wide audience of Policy Makers, Regulators, Broadcast Engineers, Corporate Executives and Managers, i.e. middle-level managers, administrators and officials dealing with strategic planning for the introduction and business for Digital Terrestrial Television Broadcasting.

Please be informed that no fee is being applied for participants who attend the ITU-AIBD-ABU Pre-Summit Workshop. However, approval from organisers is essential. Travel arrangements, accommodation should be made and borne by the participating organisation or the individual.
