6th ABU INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & LEGAL COMMITTEE (IPLC)

17 – 18 MARCH 2022

The 6^th ABU Intellectual Property & Legal Committee (ex-Copyright Committee) will be held “ONLINE” on March 17 and March 18, 2022. The theme for this year’s IPLC is Driving Forward Urgent Reforms of the 1961 Rome Convention to Counter Signal Piracy in the Broadcast Industry: An Asia Pacific Perspective

The IPLC is the ABU Legal Division’s flagship committee and forum which deals with contemporary legal and copyright issues related to broadcasting. This upcoming IPLC will be enriching, as it will throw light on legal issues related to revisions in 1961 Rome Convention to confront & deal with Signal Piracy in the Broadcast Industry.

The first day of the IPLC (March 17, 2022) is a closed meeting session meant only for ABU’s Full Members, Additional Full Members and Associate Members while the second day (March 18, 2022) is the Forum where presentations on contemporary legal topics are made by eminent lawyers, legal professionals and other experts on matters related to broadcasting.
