2024 ABU Children’s Drama Co-Production 20th Series

ABU Children’s Drama Co-Production is an annual co-production initiative developed in co-operation with the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU).

Now in its 20th year, this co-production allows the participating organizations through its producers/ directors that participated in this co-production to produce children’s stories that are attractive to even those who live in various countries, as well as being exposed to the standard of international production.

How ABU Children’s Drama Co-Production works:

First Meeting – Producers and directors of children’s drama from the previous series share and exchange their completed works freely among participating organizations. New producers for the next series present their story ideas for collaborative input. This meeting would be on-site at Bangkok.

Second Meeting – A continuation of the first meeting, participating producers will present their updated story ideas with the executive producer as well as view and obtain children’s dramas from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) at rights-free. The meeting would be held twice online to make sure that we are up to date in terms of revised script writing and production.

Screening – Producers and directors will be screening their revised and produced children’s drama to other participants. Other member participants are able to view and obtain these completed children’s drama also at copy-right free. Screening will take place on-site as well.
