As Public Service Media, we have built our existence on serving audiences, staff and stakeholders in an honest, fair and accessible way. In order to continue to hold on to our audience and citizens’ trust, we also need to add sustainability – there is little value in temporary fixes without a longer-term future. In light of current climate and energy challenges, PSMs are re-examining how we join these two imperatives together – how we can serve our audiences in sustainable ways and keep people at the heart of everything we do. At the same time, we are facing unprecedented social challenges which prompt us – as Public Service Media – to lead by example and act as reliable and accountable stakeholders for the civil society and its institutions. The upcoming ABU-Rai Days conference will tackle the issue head-on: “Sustainability first: achieving people-centred inclusive transformation”. You are therefore most cordially invited to join us at this Fifth Edition of the ABU-Rai Days series on 13-14 March 2023 in Florence, a major event that will be hosted by RAI, the Italian Public Service Broadcaster. You will be amongst experts from around the world, bringing their special knowledge and skills in implementing people-centred sustainable change into the new digital world.

We will be answering questions such as:
•How do PSMs use the lessons of the past few years, and take positive steps towards asustainable future in content, technology, and resources?
•What models have broadcasters around the world trialled and implemented, and how theyhave been received by staff and the public?
•How do we best explain the risks of unsustainable lifestyles and promote change among ouraudience through news, programs and editorial offerings, with projects, media partnerships,and joint action?

Together, we will share experiences, discuss successes and learn from challenges.
Whether your expertise is in production, technologies, management, education, humanrelations, legal or policy, there will be something for you at the 2023 ABU-Rai Days.
