PACIFIC MEDIA PARTNERSHIP CONFERENCE – Making Apps work for You: Connecting broadcasters and audiences around the Pacific

This year’s Pacific Media Partnership Conference will be even more engaging than usual, with a special focus on Apps for broadcasting – with lots of practical examples from the region’s experts and broadcasters who have integrated them into their operations.

Apps have driven the uptake of broadcast media, especially in the younger demographics. They provide a great user experience, are very easy to use for all age groups and they boost loyalty and engagement among audiences. But how do we design and deliver an App that is attractive, user-friendly, and cost-effective? What are the must-have features and what pitfalls should be avoided?

PMPC22 will tackle these questions to help you find the best solutions for you!

The conference will begin with the 2022 Talanoa Dialogue, a Top Table Round Table in which Pacific CEOs will set the scene by sharing their experiences on the challenges and opportunities since the last PMPC, with country updates on the pandemic, borders, and business environments around the Pacific Islands.

We will then learn why Apps are important for broadcasters and audiences, how Pacific audiences are consuming all media, including digital, and how broadcasters are using Apps. FBC Fiji will showcases the development of their in-house app and VBTC Vanuatu will discuss how they are using streaming through their responsive website. Our expert developer Richard Phelps from All In Media (AIM) will demonstrate how broadcasters around the Asia-Pacific are designing and using Apps to drive engagement and monetise content.

There will also be a special presentation on YouTube’s off-the-shelf App that has transformed streaming, before a Question-and-Answer session when participants get a chance to ask relevant questions of the experts and perhaps share their own view on this important topic.
