As a continuation of partnership between the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) and Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) in organizing Events, the ASBU has extended invitation to ABU Members to nominate participants in the Workshop on Satellite Transmission from 09-13 October 2023.
The aim of the workshop is to enable the participants to understand the satellite transmission system and components of the Earth Stations. Also to understand the satellite systems DVB-S/S2/S2X in addition to understand physically and mathematically the link budget calculation, explore the used software for calculations, as well as gaining experience on interference problems and how to solve it. The workshop will include different topics such as: Introduction to satellite transmission and components of the Earth Stations; Introduction to satellite link budget analysis, DVB-S/S2/S2X systems; Practical training on the link budget calculation using one of the software; Interference and jamming problems and how to solve it.

The content of the event is designed for Engineers from Radio and TV Broadcasters working in installation and operation of the Earth Stations within their facilities including those in planning & studies of satellite projects.
The workshop is hosted and organized by the ASBU and will take place at the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) Training Academy Premises in Tunis, Tunisia.
There are no registration/participation fees for ABU members. All expenses on the travel and stay of your nominee are to be borne by your organisation. ASBU will ensure the local transportation and in case any candidate needs an entry visa to Tunisia, ASBU will provide an invitation letter to enable him/her to apply for the visa at the Tunisian Embassy in their country.
