The Sichuan TV Festival has introduced the International Gold Panda Awards for TV Drama to its roster of competitions that take place during the festival, to be held from November 16 to 18.

The competition, established in cooperation with the National Drama Channel, CCTV8, features the categories of miniseries, made-for-TV movies and TV series, worldscreen.com reports.

The awards are open to programs originally intended for broadcast and first aired anywhere in the world between January 1, 2008 to July 31, 2013.

Additional prize sub-categories will include best director, best screenplay, best photography, best actor and best actress.

“At a time when television drama programs are one of the most important genres available to Chinese viewers, I am delighted to open the International Gold Panda Awards for TV Dramas, to help all Chinese producers discover so many international dramas that our new competition will display,” said Luliang, the head of the Sichuan TV Festival for Dramas and Exhibitions. “With these Awards, we created the possibility for all willing winners and nominees to be featured and displayed on Chinese TV, both on CCTV8, The Drama Channel and Sichuan TV.”
