ABU Sports is one of the principal distributor of sports events and content to broadcasters in Asia and the Pacific. It acts and provides a crucial link between broadcasters and right-holders.

Its media management role, range from negotiating rights for, and on behalf of its members to sports event management. Efficient and timely gathering of information, planning and coordinating transmission services remain a major task of the ABU Sports

The Vice President of Broadcast & Media Rights at IOC TMS to deliver the Keynote Address to the 2021 ABU Sports Group Conference

The Virtual ABU Sports Group Conference and Associated Meetings, 2021 will take place next week. The conference on May 19, is seeing and increasing number of registration by Sports Broadcasters across Asia.</p> <p>The Vice President of Broadcast & Media Rights at IOC TMS will deliver the Keynote Address to the conference, the first ever by a senior official from the IOC. Ms Anne-Sophie Voumard is expected to share IOC’s perspectives including Olympic Agenda, the Olympic Games and encourage broadcasters in times like these.</p> <p>The ABU Sports Director Mr Cai Yanjiang described this as significant and said, this will further enhance IOC/ABU partnership.</p> <p>The conference will also feature engaging discussions on Olympic Broadcasting, and related presentations by members and partners. Some 58 organisations are expected to attend the conference.</p> <p>The Committee meetings will take place on May 18. 67th ABU Sports Group Conference & Associated Meetings

“Reset, revive, Rebuild; Moving Ahead Together” - May 18 & 19 2021. Sports Broadcasters from across Asia Pacific will gather online in May to take stock of their Sports calendar and broadcast schedules for the year ahead. Themed “Reset, Revive, Rebuild: Moving ahead together” the conference will provide an opportunity for ABU Sports Group members to share experiences and to plan for the future. The conference will further emphasize the importance of enhancing cooperation in the post pandemic world. Besides, the ABU Sports plan to feature engaging discussions and presentations by partners and broadcasters with focus on Olympic broadcasting to case studies on sports channel management and local football league broadcast, among others. The Director Cai Yanjing says, it is time to go beyond just presenting reports to members, but focus on further enhancing engagement and participation. The conference also hopes to help address pressing challenges facing sports broadcasters in the wake of the Pandemic, he said. The two-day conference will see Committee meetings on the first day. ABU Sports Conducts Innovative In-Country workshop on Media Operational Planning

ABU Sports organised an In-Country workshop on Media Operational Planning in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 28 August 2020. The workshop was designed for Malaysian broadcasters who are working in the sports production and international sports events planning. The workshop was opened by a welcome speech from the ABU Sports Director, Mr Yanjiang Cai.
