Without a doubt, 2020 was one of the most challenging years for broadcasters around the world. In these unprecedented times marked by profound change, serving our audiences has never been more important for public service media. This is why we believe it is vital to share our experiences of the last months and the lessons we have learned which can be applied for the future.

It is especially important that the new world we help to build after the pandemic is a better one, in tribute to the death, pain and suffering all nations have experienced.

We therefore kindly invite you and your representatives to the third ABU-RAI DAYS 2021, this year entitled “A new world out of COVID: Can Public Service Media  help to create more open, inclusive and tolerant societies?” that RAI, the Italian public service broadcaster, is proud to be presenting in two sessions, on 14^th and 15^th June 2021, in cooperation with the ABU.

In the circumstances, this year’s event will be organized in a hybrid mode, both online and hosted live by RAI in Milan. In the collaborative spirit of the ABU-Rai Days initiative, we will bring together the thought leaders of Asian and European media for a discourse on their plans, considerations for the future and hopes for Public Service Media in a post-COVID world.

This special edition of the ABU RAI Days will give us the opportunity to hear first hand about the aspects of our work that have been permanently impacted by the ongoing pandemic – including digital transformation, media formats and platforms, content development and storytelling, as well as nation-building itself. It will also be an opportunity to strengthen our cooperation with broadcasting colleagues from around the world in order to ensure that our audiences and our citizens remain the focal point of any new developments.
